storage for my cricut

I have had a cricut for about 2 years now and have never found a good setup for it.  Part of the problem is that I like to scrapbook and do crafts involving paint downstairs and leave my up stairs craft room for sewing and my kids tv room.  But I have always had all my craft supplies in the upstairs craft room.  Which means that either I drag stuff downstairs, where it remains in a pile for far too long, or I don't do what I want because I am too lazy to go and get everything.  Since we joined the new millenium and got a flat screen, we no longer needed our tv cabinet that was in our bedroom.  Then I discovered something MIRACULOUS!

My cricut fits perfectly on the old tv stand!  It pulls out so that I can use it and it has enough space in the back for the paper to come through when it is done cutting.  Oh Joy!  I am not very good with organzation, but we are having a snow day today and I felt extremely inspired to get this done.  Yesterday I was at walmart and found some 5 drawer (very narrow)  stacking drawers and thought I could put them on the sides of the cricut and they wouldn't be so wide as to keep the cricut from moving back and forth on the the tv dolly.  I've tried others and they were always to wide and gunked up the works.

These worked beautifully, I can still pull the cricut forward and it is completely useable.  The drawers are home for scissors, paint brushes, glues, magnet strips and small stencils.  The bin holding the cricut cartridges is actually a cascade dishwashing tabs container, it holds 5 cartridges perfectly.  Do you like the scrubbing bubbles cans I used for the second tiers supports.  It's all that worked, and it's a snow day, so I'll keep my eye out in the future for something to replace those with.  The wood was just wood I had in the garage that worked.  I think I am going to put a dowel across the inside and string all my ribbon across.  But I need to go get the dowel and the end holders.

Underneath this cabinet is two more doors that used to store dvds and tapes.  I now have my scrap papers, jewelry supplies, larger stencils etc.  It really is perfect, I'm actually feeling a little giddy.  I hope this helps someone else store their cricut.
I am posting this in shanty2chic I did it without my husband
